Amy | Owner, CMT, Esthetician & Reiki Master amy@tulaspa.com

Tacos or Burgers? Tacos! Always Tacos… all the time. I am obsessed with Taco Cat!

Favorite Animal? Why? Gorillas… they are large, loyal, goofy, yet fierce.

What do you do for self-care? I love relaxing with my family. Taking baths filled with oils and salts. I also realize that exercise is a major key in maintaining a healthy constitution,  and forcing myself to love my body more with a little work out now and again.

What is the coolest thing a client has said to you, or done? I honestly am completely humbled and grateful on a daily basis as to what Tula has become over the years due to all of our clients. I think the most “insane” moment was when Woody Harrelson said “You were born to do this” in his southern drawl after one of my massages… because… Woody.

It’s Friday at 3pm, what are you doing? I am most likely at home with my lovely husband and 4 children. Trying to soak up the moments that I am lucky enough to spend with them.

What are your Massage strengths, or modalities that you most enjoy? As much as I love services that allow me to assist all of my clients I am most drawn to Energy work. I feel a deeper connection with my client and also feel the most fulfillment, personally.

Please note that Amy is a Certified Massage Therapist, Licensed Esthetician, and Reiki Master.

Tacos or Burgers? I love a good Burger & Fries at the Patty Wagon!

What is  your favorite color? Green… it makes me feel closer to nature, as well as brings a calming feeling.

What do you do for self-care? Self-care is something that I am currently working hard at improving on! Massage is important to me as I am a Massage Therapist and need to maintain for my clients. I also love taking time alone to go Thrift Shopping or having a cup of coffee at a local cafe.

What is your favorite part about working for Tula Spa? The first thing that drew me to Tula was the atmosphere. It has a special vibe to it. That along with ALL the wonderful clients that allow me to do what I love, and last but NOT least, our Tula Team!

What is the coolest thing a client has ever said to you, or done? It is always amazing to hear “That was the BEST massage I have ever had”, it seriously never gets old. That, and amazing reviews… oh, they can really make my month!

How do you spend your days off? I really love spending time with my family at our cabin. Hanging out on the pontoon or kayaking. I also really love spending time in nature… whether it’s hiking, or just being near the water.

What are your Massage strengths, or modalities that you most enjoy? I prefer to offer my clients medium to deep tissue massages with a meditation-like flow. I also LOVE fertility, pre and post natal massages, as it makes me feel really good to be able to give relief to mamas that are working so hard at creating a life. It is truly a blessing!

Tea or Coffee? I love black coffee, but am trying to stay away from it now. I’ve switched to organic, loose leaf green or black tea, and am very satisfied so far!

Tacos or Burgers? Veggie tacos everywhere are my jam… with extra avocado.

What do you do for self-care? I try to go to the chiropractor bi-weekly, my lovely acupuncturist (who also does cupping on me) monthly, and take an amazing amount of magnesium chloride baths with peppermint and clove essential oils. Oh, and I also schedule in plenty of “me time”.

What is your favorite part about working for Tula Spa? Working for a business with a similar ethos to my own!

What is the coolest thing a client has ever said to you, or done? No matter how many times it happens, I am always delighted, shocked and awed when clients say, “That was the best massage I’ve ever had!”.

How do you spend your days off? Scavenging thrift stores and Estate Sales for useful, beautiful home goods. Reading, researching, exploring the state, and collecting pins on Pinterest!

What are your massage strengths, or modalities that you most enjoy? I really love providing therapeutic massages that work out all the kinks but are relaxing at the same time. My style is slow, methodical, meditative and a blend of light, medium and deep pressure. I have clients all the time who prefer lighter pressure only, but I really love when people come in for something deeper.

What is your favorite part about working at Tula Spa? The environment is so wonderful. I am drawn to the love and positivity that everyone embodies here! That on top of the Tula’s holistic approach in all the services all the way down to the little details is truly amazing and beautiful!

What is the coolest thing a client has said to you, or done? I have had clients show their appreciation by bringing gifts from their particular cultures, which I am honored to accept. To me these gifts uniquely represents them, as well as their appreciation to share and connect what they love. I have also heard several clients describe my facials as a beautiful mix of relaxation and results. This is what I strive for!

What are your skin care strengths, or services that you most enjoy? I adore providing holistic facials of all kinds, and specialize in brow shaping!
